Is “revenge bedtime procrastination” a real concept? I’m always wary of “people from another country have this perfectly descriptive phrase” stuff, but it’s on Language Log so it has to be true, right? Whether it’s a thing or not, it’s relatable, but I’m definitely not doing it now. Definitely.
I took my husband’s dog to the v-e-t this evening and they are concerned enough about her to do some blood tests. For her weird skin she’s now on antibiotics and anti-mite medicine. She has apparently lost a kilogram since we were there a couple of months ago. I told the vet that it’s probably just harder for her to forage with the big doughnut thing around her neck that is stopping her from nibbling herself to death, but he gave me the big vet eyes that typically indicate that we may want to Think About Next Steps. Anyway, blood results first.
If I had known pocket money could make children so pleasant and productive, I would have doled it out ages ago.

Didn't you take British Novel at Liberal College? It is all about how picket money makes children pleasant and priductive.
