OH YEAH
Further to that last note, I forgot the best part! Natasha had asked me to help with summarizing a book (which by the way happened to be a Raymond Feist offering), and I did so, reading the whole thing and writing out a detailed summary, chapter by chapter, in a day. I had never done anything like that before, and I wasn't sure how well I did. (Also, I thought it was for Natasha, so I was actually pretty cheeky in the summary (pointing out the obvious tropes and adding in editorial asides).)
So Natasha forwarded me an email today from Jane Johnson. Jane Johnson?, you might reply. Who's that? Oh, just the person who personally looks after George R. R. Martin, Robin Hobb, Raymond Feist, etc. You know, just the publishing director for HarperVoyager. Jane was talking to Natasha about something entirely different then asked who had done the summary. Tash said it was me. Jane said, "It is fabulous - and terrifically useful for seeing the shape. She's excellent "
Do you know, I may yet pass out with joy.
