work/life update
Hello, long-suffering TinyLetter subscribers,
I haven't talked about work at all on Facebook, and since I only ever seem to interact with people on Facebook (more on that later), you might not know that I am continuing with my Wild Cards editing, but I have also acquired a new client. For my new client, I do pre-agency editing, which means I look at people's manuscripts and try to whip them into shape before they approach agencies.
[REDACTED. Reason: TOO ANGSTY]
In other news, I'm heading up to Edinburgh on Thursday to go to the Festival, as I try to do every year. Giles is taking the children to Wales. When we get back, we are moving into a small rented flat with our two children and a cat and a dog (oh no) while some men dig out our entire ground floor and try not to 1. cut into the sewage line that runs under our house 2. excavate the ancient river that apparently runs under our street. We will stay penned in our doggy/catty enclosure for seven months, after which we will move back into what we hope is a better house and not a house with an open poo-filled swimming pool for a basement.
So: Facebook. This whole newsletter started ages ago when I was umming and ahhing about whether or not to ~dELetE mY aCcoUnt~, which I halfheartedly did a few times as you know, then went back every time. But, you know, it's just not fun anymore. So I downloaded my Twitter archive and deleted almost everything (you can follow me at @angelbelsey, but it's going to be mostly work-related stuff I think), I downloaded my Facebook archive--and . . . and . . . I permanently deleted my account. It's gone. I have all my posts and photos, but the account is toast. Instagram is still there; Flickr is still there (I think) (yeah I need to sort that out, for real this time), but I just cannot with Facebook.
So maybe there will be more of these? Maybe. I do hope to hear from you guys too.
<3,
Angel
